Contrasting the urban morphology of the post-december period, the residential project One Herăstrău Plaza is distinguished by its white and orthogonal volume that ensures its harmonious positioning in the Bucharest landscape. Located on the slope of the land between Pipera and 21 Zăgazului Street, the complex provides a spectacular panoramic view of Herăstrău Park and Floreasca Lake through the post-tensioned balconies. The two bodies of the complex form an urban slab around the inner square and cover an area of 30,000 m2, while providing an elegant interior architecture for the 156 apartments. One Herăstrău Plaza, this project completed in 2019, implements the mixed-use program that ensures the combination of commercial spaces, large glass offices on the first two floors and modern apartments built above them. Also, materials incorporated into the facade design such as marble, fibrobeton panels, thermosystem, horizontal finished aluminum cladding and Equitone panels launched in 2018 keep the transition from industrial construction to modern landscaping smooth.
"The way we look at architectural design always takes into account documenting the challenges that arise in the various design phases, so that what we build remains part of the city as far into the future as possible. The complexity and construction of a contemporary mixed-function project helps us to discover simultaneously the needs of residents and developers and challenges us to solve them. For us, design means depth, contrast, efficiency, constructability. Architecture is the constant discovery and uncovering of the author's previous spatial understanding and means of expression. It is a precise project because structurally (8.10m orthogonal grid - postensioning - organic cantilivers related to the structure) it seeks to approach the grids of Uccello or Durer, to understand the ephemerality of design that becomes the permanence of a physical and urban body.'' - Marius Călin
