As a connecting area between Strada Nicolae G. Caramfil and Strada Zăgazului, One Herăstrău Park is a residential complex of over 20,000 sqm composed of two apartment blocks. Built in cantilever and volumetrically oriented towards the Lakes Floreasca and Herăstrău - the two 14-storey towers centered on a semi-public interior plaza offer over 100 luxury apartments of various sizes. The developer’s support and dedication in all façade project phases ensured the coherence of the first green apartment building in Romania. The innovative and comfort aspects represent for us a continuous motivation, the expansion of the responsible knowledge in the design, as well as technological challenges from design in execution. The accentuation of the verticality of the ensemble was supported asymmetrically by a series of "mappings" between the glazed surfaces - from windows to curtain wall areas, along with stereotomic paneling of white fibrocement panels between vertical fields of thermosystem.
In the design of the two towers five articulated volumes were developed with different functional densities and floor heights as following: the slightly elevated base from the street, consisting of two partially underground parking levels; the lobby area, plaza and perimeter gardens; the floors 1-5 composed of several apartments per level (between 6 and 7 apartments) compared to the next group of floors 6-10 and the upper volume dedicated to triplex apartments.
„Our projects are technical from the very beginning - in the sense of product analysis, with design digitization and with this poesis of depth, reflection and transparency that we test, seek and build. Simultaneously visionary and romantic, such a “building” in terms of architecture must have a program/ end user. A relevant rating. A goal in knowing the world through architecture.”
